Field Education

The mission statement of the college reads:

"KLBC exists to provide students a quality educational experience grounded in the instruction and application of the Bible, designed to enable them to develop an understanding of their culture and times, strengthen their personal walk with the Lord, and better equip them to serve in the mission of the church."

It is the goal of Kawartha Lakes Bible College that the students' educational experience at KLBC will equip them to serve in the mission of the church. Therefore, it is not merely head-knowledge that we seek to impart but also, skills and equipping for service. It is our philosophy that service is both a natural and intentional result of the instruction of the Bible.

The Field Education Program has been created to give students opportunity to apply the things being learned in the classroom into real-life situations. Since this practical learning happens simultaneously with the theoretical classroom learning the student will have a practical grid through which to filter the theory.

Field Education functions as a discovery tool. Through this experience you will begin to discover your gifting and interests. You may discover strengths and weaknesses you never knew that you had. You may learn with which age of people you like to work. You may discover new types of ministry that you never knew existed. It may plant ministry ideas in your mind, in which God will use you in the future.
