Statement of Philosophy

Preparatory

The initial vision of the founding fathers of KLBC was to provide an intense Bible Study program designed primarily for secondary school graduates prior to their enrolling for university or college education or entering the work place. Their desire was for young people to have a firm foundation upon which they could build for the rest of their lives thereby, further equipping themselves for important ministries within their local church.

As a result of this initial vision which we continue to affirm, each subject within the curriculum is Bible centred and Bible based. This provides the student with nearly 550 hours of biblical instruction over an eight-month period of study.

Practical

KLBC recognizes that the relationship between the academic instruction of the Word of God and one's practical lifestyle is a complimentary one. The academic exchange which takes place within the context of the classroom cannot be divorced from real life experience which takes place outside of the classroom.

Incorporated into our program of study are a number of factors designed to encourage the students in their application of biblical truths to daily life. As part of the Field Education requirements the students engage in an average of four hours of supervised Christian service each week. The importance of the local church is emphasized throughout the year as reflected in the students' responsibilities once they select a 'home church'.
